SECOND PAPER
Subject :# 14217 Poesia Inglesa desde el siglo XVIII Grupo A
Student´s name: Trigueros Sifre, Gonzalo
Title of the paper: Dealing with death
Author or topic: John Keats
Abstract: In my introduction I explain what aspects I am about to work on. As in the first paper I talked about death when related to John Keats poems, in my second paper I use many of his poems in order to make some references addressed to John Keats beloved friends and relatives. These poems are such as: “Asleep! O Sleep A Little While, White Pearl!”, “Bright star, would I were steadfast as thou art “ and “Dedication To Leigh Hunt, Esq.”. I have done an Analysis about Dedication To Leigh Hunt, Esq. , an Analysis on Asleep! O Sleep A Little While, White Pearl and a Review on Bright star, would I were steadfast as thou art. In the first poem, which is dedicated to his wife (the “White Pearl”), the word “Asleep” is used in this case as a methaphor, so a dead person could be sleeping poetically speaking. By “A Little While” the author means the whole eternity, so there is a huge difference of time between a little while and eternity, that is the small comparison. In the second poem, the term “Bright Star” is also addressed to his wife, just like “White Pearl”. The last one, but not the least, is a dedication to one of the best friends of John Keats, as its title expresses by itself. In the conclusion I talk about what aspects I found the most interesting ones.
